Iran's imports in seven months exceed $5M

In the first seven months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), Iran imported 10.45 million tons of products worth $5.343 billion, Mizan News Agency reported referring to a report of Iran's Customs Administration (IRICA).

The report stated that the main imports were corn, rice, medicines, cooking oils, meat, soy, barley, fertilizers, sugar and wheat.

During the period, 4,776 tons of corn were imported, which is 21 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.

In the first seven months of the current Iranian year, rice imports amounted to 964,000 tons or $990 million in value terms.

Medicine imports amounted to 4,852 tons or $605.565 million.
