On Dec. 17, 2018, PwC Azerbaijan hosted a Business Update Workshop dedicated to the most recent Tax Code amendments and other important changes in the business legislation in Azerbaijan, at Rotunda Hall, Landmark Plaza, Trend reports on Dec. 24 referring to the PwC's press release.
“The purpose of the workshop is informing our clients and wider business community of the important changes that have been taking place in the business related legislation. In the times of rapid business transformation, we aim to be agile and provide proactive advice to our clients by working closely with the Government of Azerbaijan on improving the country’s business and investment climate”, said Movlan Pashayev, Country Managing Partner of PwC Azerbaijan in his opening speech.
The workshop was led and moderated by Arif Guliyev, PwC Azerbaijan’s Tax and Legal Services Leader, who has been closely working with the governmental bodies in the legislative process. The session was attended by over 250 CEOs, CFOs and business owners.
The most recent findings of PwC’s Paying Taxes report featuring Azerbaijan’s ranking were also presented in the course of the workshop, by Michael Ahern, PwC Eurasia's Tax and Legal Services Leader. According to this year’s report, Azerbaijan is ranked 28th in the Paying Taxes 2019.
