In 2018 the export of the Turkish cars totaled $31.6 billion, the supply volume increased by 11 percent compared with the results of 2017, Trend reports via Turkish Automotive Industry Exporters' Association.
This figure is a record for the entire period of existence of the automotive industry in Turkey.
"In 2018 cars worth $24.6 billion were exported to the EU countries. The cars worth $4.75 billion were exported to Germany," said the association.
In 2019 Turkey plans to export cars worth $32 billion to the world market.
Turkey is the sixth largest car manufacturer in Europe. The country assembles cars Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz и MAN brands. In addition, local-made buses BMC, Temsa and Otokar are produced in Turkey.
