It is planned to allocate 1.5 trillion tenge for the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan for Compact Construction in Astana for 2019-2023, Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.

"This will positively affect the development of the economy of the city and the country as a whole. In five years, the city’s budget will receive 7 trillion tenge, and it is planned to attract 6 trillion tenge from private investments, which will create 300,000 new jobs and attract 3 million tourists," Astana Mayor Bakhyt Sultanov said at an extended staff meeting.

Also, 150 kilometers of water supply networks and 81 kilometers of sewage networks will be built in the city to provide the population with quality housing and utility services.

Reconstruction of the combined heat and power plant CHP-2 will provide additional 2-2.5 million square meters of residential and commercial space with centralized heat supply.

In addition, this year work will continue to ensure the smooth removal of surface runoff in Astana.

"The total catchment area will grow from 13,000 to 23,000 hectares in five years," Sultanov noted.
