Azerbaijani exporters may receive new preferences in the form of visa-free entry to European and Arab countries, a source in the government told Trend.
This issue is under consideration by the government, according to the source.
“Often there are cases when businessmen need to quickly fly to a business meeting, negotiate or just take part in an exhibition,” the source noted. “To do this, they need to apply for a visa and wait about one week. If the exporters have a service passport, they will be able to travel abroad without spending time waiting for a visa, and this is important for active business.”
The issuance of service passports to people working in the cultural sector, such as singers and musicians, is in practice in Azerbaijan.
“In Turkey and in some European countries, for example, the issuance of service passports to businessmen is in practice,” the source said. “We conducted research and concluded that this doesn’t contradict the conventions. The country itself can choose the category of people who may get service passports.”
