Small & medium-sized businesses make up most of investments in Kazakhstan's capital

Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, received more than 1 trillion tenge of investments in 2018, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"There are 193 projects for almost 3 trillion tenge, of which 44 are projects with the participation of foreign investors and transnational companies. In the total investment volume, 86 percent is the contribution of small and medium-sized businesses", Mayor of Astana Bakhyt Sultanov said.

He added that the 2018 indicator of investment attraction is a record for Astana.

"Investment growth continues this year. Industry, healthcare, trade and services are in the growth zone," Sultanov said.

He reminded that state programs are actively used to support entrepreneurs.

"Some 1090 business entities received support for 185.9 billion tenge as part of the Business Roadmap, and microloans in the amount of 873.3 million tenge were issued. Some 65 start-up entrepreneurs were could organize their own business. All these measures have allowed to save more than 9,000 existing and create more than 6,300 new jobs," the mayor said.
