Iran grows 80,000 tons of horticulture products in Zarandieh County

Some 80,000 tons of horticulture products have been grown in the Zarandieh County of Iran’s Markazi Province, Ahmad Qarabeglu, head of the Department of Agriculture for Markazi Province’s Zarandieh County, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Qarabeglu, the products were grown on 13,500 hectares of land.

Qarabeglu added that pistachio, almond, peach, grape and pomegranate are the mainly grown products.

"This [Iranian] year (started March 21, 2018), 150,000 tons of crop produce has been grown in the county, 26,000 tons of which is wheat," he said.

The official said that 800,000 tons of red meat, 3,200 tons of chicken meat, 45,000 tons of fish, 3,500 tons of eggs were produced in the county, along with more than 25,500 tons of milk and 50 tons of honey.

With a population of more than 60,000 people, the Zarandieh County of Markazi Province has an area of more than 4,500 square kilometers.
