Salaries raise in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic

The average monthly salary in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) reached 433.2 manats in January-February 2019, which is 3.1 percent more than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee.

In the first quarter of 2019, 1,173 new jobs were created within the state program for increasing employment in NAR, 1,162 of which (99.1 percent) are based on permanent employment.

In accordance with the requirements of the labor market, 66 students were trained in the Nakhchivan Regional Vocational Training Center as locomotive drivers, tailors, assistant cooks and workers for repair and maintenance of gas equipment. In addition, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic trained more than 624 people in vocational education institutions under the Ministry of Education.

Creating employment opportunities has increased the purchasing power of the population and increased the volume of trade. In the first quarter of 2019, consumer goods worth 352.4 million manats were sold in the consumer market in Nakhchivan.

New service center was constructed in the village of Dasta in Ordubad district and another service center was rebuilt in the village of Kerimbeyli in Sharur district to increase the level and quality of the services provided to the population.

Construction of service centers is underway in the villages of Alishar, Gishlagabbas, Yeni Havush, Muganli and Muganjig Mehrab of Sharur district; the villages of Kultepe and Gulshanabad of Babek district; and the village of Turkesh of Shahbuz district.
