Turkmenistan aims to cooperate with UAE, India in agricultural sector

Turkmenistan’s Ter önüm company has signed a cooperation agreement with Indian and Emirati companies, Trend reports referring to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET).

The signing took place on the sidelines of the international exhibition of exporters of seasonal agricultural products, which was held in Mumbai, India.

Fresh and canned vegetables and fruits including melons and dried fruits, which are produced in Turkmenistan, were highly appreciated by experts, who awarded the Turkmen exhibition stand a gold medal.

Ter önüm exports agricultural products to Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey and the UAE. The company also plans to export its products to Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal and other countries, taking into account their seasonal demand, and to import exotic fruits from abroad to Turkmenistan.

Ter önüm is mainly involved in trade. Vegetables and fruits are purchased from local producers, whom the entrepreneurs render necessary assistance including marketing of products and supplying high-yielding seeds.

The forum held in Mumbai is one of the well-known targeted events for promoting fruit and vegetable marketing. More than 80 companies from 35 countries participated in the forum this year.
