Retail trade volume in Kazakhstan reaches nearly $8 billion

Volume of retail trade in Kazakhstan in January-May of 2019 amounted to 3.96 billion tenge ($7.94 billion), which is five percent more than in the corresponding period of 2018 year, Trend reports referring to Committee of Statistics of Kazakhstan.

The largest percentage in the volume of retail trade accounts for Almaty city (31.7 percent), which is followed by Nur-Sultan city (former Astana), the capital of the country (11.7 percent).

Among regions of Kazakhstan, the largest percentage in structure of retail trade accounts for Karaganda (9,4%) and East-Kazakhstan (9,1%) regions.

The volume of wholesale trade in January-May 2019 also increased. The volume of wholesale trade amounted to 8.46 trillion tenge, which is eight percent more than in the same period of last year.
