Uzbekistan purchases armored vehicles from Russia

Uzbekistan purchased several dozens of "Tiger" armored vehicles from Russia, Trend reports citing TASS.

Central Asian country purchased modifications of VPK-233136 in a special configuration - the armored body of the car is equipped with additional doors, protective grilles are added to the windows, infrared floodlights and folding armor protection are installed around the front and rear hatches.

The armored car in this configuration is armed with a 7.62 mm caliber machine gun.

These improvements were made specifically at the request of the Uzbek side.

“Tiger” (GAZ-2330) is a line of multi-purpose armored vehicles produced at the Arzamas engineering plant.

The prototype of the machine, developed under a contract with Jordan, was shown in 2001. In the future, the car was substantially redesigned. The vehicle is in mass production since 2005.

Its main function is the transportation of personnel, various cargoes on public roads and over rough terrain.

In addition to Russia, various modifications of the "Tiger" are used by Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Slovakia, Uruguay, and several Arab and African countries.
