French Automobile Corporation is ready to start production of automobiles of the most popular currently KWID model in Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
The delegation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France met with the leadership of Groupe Renault.
Reportedly, some preliminary agreements were reached during the meeting. The concern’s management confirmed its readiness to start assembling A-class cars in Uzbekistan, and then to switch to other market segments to further localize production.
Groupe Renault considers Uzbekistan as a potential key partner in Central Asia. Renault KWID is considered to be the first car manufactured by Renault in Uzbekistan. It will be sold in Uzbekistan and exported to the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan.
In addition to the meeting in Paris, a return visit will take place soon. The delegation of the French company will visit Uzbekistan so that the preliminary agreements turn into real contracts.
