Baku, Azerbaijan, July 10
By Tamilla Mammadova - Trend:
In July 2019, Georgia has exported 3,426 tons of peaches and nectarines, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection of Georgia.
The minimum wholesale price of peaches and nectarines amounts to 0.7 GEL, whereby maximum wholesale price is 1.5 GEL.
Georgia sees a decline in export of peaches this year compared to the same period of the 2018, when 5,554 tons of peaches were exported. As the Ministry reports, the climate conditions caused late harvesting that in turn resulted in the low export rate in 2019.
According to the Ministry, all required documents for export are prepared and issued under the single-window system. This is the system enabling international traders to submit regulatory documents at a single location or a single entity.
Officials from phytosanitary and customs agencies are also involved in the process.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection of Georgia has a special working group which intensively works on earning information, systematization and establishment of ties between farmers and peach sellers.
