Georgia and Hungary define new ways of cooperation

Hungary is interested in expanding comprehensive cooperation with Georgia, Trend reports with reference to agenda.ge.

Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjártó held talks on a transition to a new stage in trade and economic relations and active cooperation in the field of education at a meeting held in the framework of the Batumi international conference.

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó concluded an Emergency Response Agreement, an Agreement on learning the Hungarian language in Georgia, an Agreement on Agricultural Development and an Agreement on Cooperation between the JSC Partnership Fund (PF) of Georgia and Hungarian Export-Import Bank Plc. (Eximbank).

Attention was paid to the positive dynamics of tourism, and it was noted that the number of Hungarian tourists to Georgia increased by 20 percent compared to last year, which is an important prerequisite for setting up additional direct flights.

The need to intensify the bilateral intergovernmental economic commission and the prospect of concluding an agreement on the protection and promotion of bilateral investments between Georgia and Hungary were stressed. The Prime Minister of Georgia stated that the government welcomes the activities of as many Hungarian companies in Georgia as possible.

Bakhtadze and Szijjártó also talked about issues related to migration and Georgia’s significant achievements towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
