Kazakhstan takes measures to increase trade with Tajikistan

Kazakhstan is aiming to promote Kazakh goods on the local market of Tajikistan, Trend reports with reference to Tajik media.

“During 1H2019 the volume of mutual trade between countries decreased by 12 percent, however both countries still plan to increase mutual trade turnover to $2 billion,” the report said.

“This is why countries are in the process of developing ‘Roadmap on increase of trade turnover between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan for 2019-2022', which will cover specific measures to expand trade relations between businesses of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan,” the report said.

Recently President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin. During the meeting Mamin stated that Kazakhstan was ready to expand investment cooperation between the countries by creating joint investment projects.

Furthermore, over 10 documents aimed at strengthening of cooperation between countries worth over $80 million were signed following the end of the meeting.
