Uzbekistan, Belarus to increase trade to $500 M

Trade turnover of Uzbekistan and Belarus by the end of 2019 may reach about $500 million, Trend reports citing BelTA.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Eler Ganiyev stated that the leaders of the two countries set the goal of increasing mutual trade. “We expect that this year it will be about $500 million,” the deputy prime minister said.

It was also noted that Uzbekistan sees great prospects for cooperation between the two countries, especially in the industrial sphere. Both countries have great opportunities in these areas and now they are actively working on them.

Earlier Trend reported that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be on an official visit to Belarus from July 31 to August 1 at the invitation of head of the state Alexander Lukashenko.

In Minsk, the presidents plan to discuss cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, as well as topical issues of the regional and international agenda.

The leaders of the two countries will visit the National Industrial Exhibition of Uzbekistan in the Belarusian capital and the High Technologies Park of Belarus.

Following the talks, they will sign a joint statement and approve a package of documents in the field of investment, industrial and scientific and technical cooperation.
