Agricultural production costs up in Kazakhstan

The cost of agriculture production in Kazakhstan increased by 7 percent, including increase of 9.6 percent of crop production cost and decrease of 0.2 percent of animal products cost as of the end of June, Trend reports with reference to Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan.

Furthermore, during 2Q2019 the cost of crop products increased by 18.8 percent compared to the same period of last year, whereas the animal products cost increased by 4.3 percent during the same period.

Thus, the cost of buckwheat decreased by 3.3 percent, whereas the cost of wheat increased by 18.9 percent, of barley by eight percent, of corn by 5.5 percent, of oats by 3.1 percent, of rice by one percent, of rye by 0.7 percent.

In turn, the cost of cucumbers decreased by 13.5 percent, of potatoes by 5.8 percent, of tomatoes by one percent, of carrots by 0.6 percent, of cabbage by 0.4 percent. The beetroot cost increased by 4.9 percent, the cost of onion increased by 1.7 percent. The cost of dried peas increased by 22.6 percent, of the seeds of sunflower by 15.9 percent, whereas the cost of dried lentils decreased by 3.5 percent.

The cost of horse meat also increased by 4.3 percent, of cattle by 3.7 percent, of sheep and pigs by 2.2 percent, of poultry by 0.9 percent. Furthermore, chicken eggs decreased in price by 17 percent, honey by 3.8 percent, sheep wool by 2.7 percent and raw milk price increased by 1.2 percent.
