Georgia’s economy grows 5% in June

The Georgian GDP has increased 5 percent in June 2019, according to the results of 1H2019 - by 4.9 percent, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

Compared to the same period in 2018, growth was recorded in such sectors as tourism, industry, real estate, construction, trade, hotel, restaurant business, while the financial sector saw a decline.

According to Geostat, exports have grown 11.5 percent in January - June 2019, reaching $1.77 million.

Meanwhile imports have dropped to $4.19 million (4.9 percent).

Geostat data show that 3,893 new enterprises were registered in June, which is 2 percent less than the data from June 2018.
