Turkmenistan intends to sign contract with US’ John Deere

Turkmenistan is planning to sign a new cooperation agreement with the John Deere company, Trend reports referring to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET).

According to the information, a meeting was held by the UIET with the delegation of the regional office of John Deere on the expansion of contacts in the supply of equipment for private farms in Turkmenistan. John Deere plans to take part in the events of the first Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held in Awaza on August 12, particularly in the exhibition of innovative technologies. John Deere has been operating in the Turkmen market for over 25 years.

The company is currently working on expanding the range of agricultural machinery supplied to Turkmenistan, including a modernized line of cotton-harvesting and combine harvesters, various tractors that meet the soil and climatic conditions of the country.

Turkmenistan aims to modernize the material and technical base of the agricultural sector in the context of the program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025. Several thousand units of various agricultural equipment of this brand have been delivered to Turkmenistan during the period of cooperation.

The annual plan for the collection of grain in Turkmenistan traditionally makes up 1,600,000 tons of grain and 1,050,000 tons of cotton. About 760,000 hectares of land are allocated for grain and 550,000 hectares for cotton.
