Trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan exceeds $600M

The trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan in January-July 2019 amounted to $600.59 million, Trend reports citing the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The share of Azerbaijan in the total trade turnover of Georgia in the reporting period amounted to 8.5 percent. Azerbaijan is Georgia’s third largest trading partner after Turkey and Russia.

Georgian exports to Azerbaijan in January-July 2019 amounted to $266,22 million, which is 6 percent higher than in the same period last year. Azerbaijan is the second major export partner of the neighboring country after Russia with a share of 12.7 percent of Georgia’s total exports.

In the first seven months of this year, Georgia imported products worth $334.38 million from Azerbaijan. Georgia's imports from Azerbaijan decreased by 1.4 percent year-on-year. Azerbaijan's share in the total imports by Georgia amounted to 6.7 percent. In this indicator, Azerbaijan ranks fourth after Turkey, China and Russia.

The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $7,065.3 million in January-July 2019, 0.2 percent lower year-on-year.
