The Azerbaijani company “Sab”, which is engaged in manufacturing of meat and dairy products, is working on the development of a new type of halal sausages [food prepared according to Islamic law, free from pork products, alcohol and certain other ingredients] under the brand of one of the Russian sausage producing companies, the company’s marketing manager Rovshan Abdullayev told Trend.
He said that the halal products will be manufactured at a plant belonging to Sab company and delivered to Russia.
“The parties came to such an agreement in the first half of this year, after the representatives of the Russian company visited our plant and got acquainted with the entire technological process of manufacturing products,” he noted. “Our foreign partners said that they want to introduce the production of halal sausage products, and they chose our company for joint production.”
The manager noted that in the coming months the company plans to complete the development of a new type of halal sausage products, which will be produced under the brand name of a well-known Russian company.
“A couple of months ago, we sent up to 40 kilograms of halal sausages to Russia for specialists to work on the design of a joint product,” he added. “We plan to start joint production before the end of this year.”
The Sab company’s production plant is located in the city of Khirdalan near Baku.
