AZERSTAR Manufacturing and Trading Company, Azerbaijan's leading hazelnut production company, will increase the supply of hazelnut products to Russia, a source at the company told Trend.
"This is our main market. Deliveries to Russia are carried out in a stable mode and they account for over 40 percent of our export of hazelnuts. Last year, we doubled the supply of hazelnuts to the Russian market. Taking into account the growing demand in this market, we plan to increase export volumes," the source said.
"Hazelnut production volumes since early 2019 have decreased almost three times compared to last year, however, export volumes to Russia this year were higher compared to supplies to other markets," the source added.
The source also noted that before the end of 2019, output of hazelnut products will amount to approximately 1,200-1,400 tons.
"In the first seven months of this year, about 1,000 tons of hazelnuts were processed at the enterprise. At the same time, 600 tons of products have been exported to Russia since the beginning of the year," the source said.
Presently, the company exports kernels of peeled hazelnuts, as well as roasted and chopped hazelnuts. The company also produces hazelnut flour, which is sold domestically.
AZERSTAR's products have a certificate of conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan. The company also has the confirmation code AZE 6231 120 for exporting products to EU countries.
The company installed equipment made in Turkey.
