Tehran, Iran, Sept.23

Trend:

Iran's Fisheries Organization plans to make the insurance in fish farms obligatory to secure the quality of products, said the head of the organization.

"In next Iranian year [starts March 21, 2020], shrimp farms without insurance are no longer allowed to be active," said Nabiollah Khonmirzai, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

"The next farming season will be important in Gomishan Shrimp Farm; therefore, Iran's Fisheries Organization will be strict in health regulations and issues such as insurance and veterinary procedures," he added.

"We seek to use the capacities of the National Development Fund to support the working capitals in fish farms and provide special advances to improve Gomishan Shrimp Farm," he indicated.

"Steps have been taken to reduce the damages of white spot syndrome virus in the Gomishan farm. The officials in administrative organizations and management of Gomishan Shrimp Farm are trying to mitigate economic damages caused by the diseases," he said.

"We are currently drafting a national plan to confront white spot disease and the next year, brood stock will be Specific Pathogen-Free (SPF) to avoid disease," he added.
