The Bulgarian government has approved an agreement on cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of postal electronic communication and information technologies, Trend reports referring to Bulgaria’s NOVA TV.

The agreement provides for the prospect of signing directly the agreements between the telecommunication and postal operators of the states.

This agreement was signed during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which took place in Turkmen Awaza resort town in August 2019. Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov led the government delegation of his country.

The two countries are studying the prospects for cooperation in the field of energy, trade, agriculture, transport and communications.

The parties declared their readiness to cooperate in ensuring global energy security and diversifying energy flows.

Prospects for partnership are also opening up in the field of transport in terms of developing transit-transport corridors between Asia and Europe in the East-West direction, with access to Southern and Eastern Europe, the Caspian Sea, the Black Sea and the Mediterranean basins, and the Middle Eastern markets.
