Leading Chinese online travel agency Ctrip is interested in the Georgian tourism market, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Representatives of the Chinese company presented their business plans the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava during her visit to China.
“The Chinese travel agency positively assessed the tourism potential of Georgia and noted that our country has all the opportunities to attract more Chinese tourists,” said Turnava.
At the meeting with representatives of Ctrip company, Turnava noted the growth of tourist flows from China to Georgia.
In 2018, 75 percent more tourists arrived from China than in the previous year. In the first eight months of 2019, the number of tourists arriving in Georgia increased.
The minister said that the increase in tourist flows was positively influenced by the introduction of direct flights with China. Currently, China Southern Airlines currently operates four regular flights a week from Beijing and Urumqi to Georgia.
