Iran pays $142 million to investors in western transportation corridor

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.13

Iranian government isto pay $142.8 million of the interest rate to investors in transportation corridor in west of the country, said deputy head in Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company.

"The west corridor is designed to pass through Bazargan border to Imam Khomeini Port via five provinces. The allocated budget will cover the interest rate of the bank loans obtained by investors," said Mohammadreza Kadkhodazadeh, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"In addition to this incentive, investors are encouraged to cooperate with governors of other provinces to use other investment opportunities in mine, agriculture and industry," Kadkhodazadeh said.

"The investment in the wester transportation corridor will be made in next three years and will be operated completely," the deputy head added.

"ThePol–e-Zal to Najaf highway project is on the agenda and is currently on the study phase," the official indicated.

"It is expected that 122 construction plans will be launched in Lorestan province with $238 million of investments," he said.
