Uzbekistan signs agricultural agreements with Indian companies

Within the framework of the visit of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Innovative Development's delegation to the Indian state of Gujarat, memorandums of understanding were signed with Natural Storage Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Nath Bio-Genes, Paragon Irrigation Pvt. Ltd. and other companies, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry’s press service.

In particular, an agreement with Natural Storage Solutions Pvt. Ltd was reached on establishing cooperation in the field of storage of fruits and vegetables based on innovative technologies. Transfer of technology for freezing and cooling vegetables and fruits to Uzbekistan will serve to ensure food security of the country and to prevent loss of production.

Furthermore, an agreement with Nath Bio-Genesuson, which made a significant contribution to the development of Indian agriculture, was signed wit the purpose to create ajoint venture to organize elite high-tech seed production on 20 hectares of land in the Samarkand region. Currently, a proposal is being developed on the allocation of land for the Uzbek-Indian joint venture and the access to the territory of free economic and small industrial zones.

One of the conditions for protecting Uzbekistan’s ecology, preserving water resources, and optimal harvesting of crops is the use of drip irrigation systems in the field. To accomplish this task, a joint venture for the production of drip irrigation systems based on innovative technologies will be created with Paragon Irrigation Pvt. Ltd.

In this regard, a proposal is being developed on the allocation of land for a joint venture, in particular, for access to the territory of free economic and small industrial zones.

The technology transfer between India and Uzbekistan will contribute to the further development of the economies of both countries and the exchange of experience of industry representatives, read the message.
