TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.10
Trend:
The trade between Iran and China within 8 months amounted to $20 billion despite US sanctions and trade war, said China's Ambassador to Iran Chang Hua speaking at the Iran-China Chamber of Commerce Conference on Dec. 10.
"Since being appointed China's ambassador to Iran, I tried to expand the bilateral relations and strategic partnership," Chang Hua added, Trend reports citing ILNA.
"Despite US efforts, economic relations between the two countries are expanding, as Chinese officials have repeatedly stressed," the ambassador said.
“We are determined to expand our cooperation. From 2016 to 2017, the two countries' trade turnover increased from $27 billion to $31 billion, and in the last eight months, its volume reached $20 billion,” Chang Hua added.
The ambassador went on to say that these figures testify to the two countries' determination to expand cooperation.
Referring to the nuclear deal, he said that the JCPOA was not created overnight; it was the result of months of negotiations between world powers.
“China believes the JCPOA should be maintained and implemented,” the China's Ambassador to Iran noted.
"The volume of China's economy has grown 450 times in the last 10 years, from half a billion dollar to $130 trillion, and we are now the largest industrial and commercial country," Chang Hua said. “China's foreign exchange reserves are very rich, with 16-precent share of the world economy.”
"We continue to support open door policy and invite allies to actively participate in China's economy. There were 3800 companies at the China International Exhibition and 500,000 people visited it,” the ambassador stated.
"We are striving to develop cooperation between Iran and China and improve economic relations to resolve Iran's economic problems,” Chang Hua said.
