Iran discloses trade turnover volume of its Kurdistan province

Iran's trade turnover through its western Kurdistan province reached $3.5 billion from March 21 through November 21 of this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019), chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the province Mohammad Daravazmi said.

Daravazmi made the remark in Iran at the meeting of the working group on export development of the province, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.

‘”Some $2.6 billion of the trade turnover of the province accounted for transit, $871 million - for export and $28 million for import,” the chairman added.

“Iran's export volume amounted to over $27 billion during the reporting period, while the share of the Kurdistan province - 1.6 percent,” Daravazmi added.

“Iran's export volume to Iraq amounted to $5.7 billion in the reporting period, while the share of customs of the Kurdistan province accounts for eight percent,” the chairman said.

“Some 99 percent of Iran’s export volume accounted for Iraq while 1 percent accounted for Turkey, Syria, India and Afghanistan,” Daravazmi said.

“Some 75 percent of the Iranian goods were exported through the Marivan checkpoint, 23 percent - through the Siranbend checkpoint and two percent through the Senandaj checkpoint,” the chairman said.
