50 economic projects to be commissioned in Iran’s Ardabil province

As part of a visit by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Iran’s Ardabil province, 50 economic projects will be commissioned and 4,395 people will be employed, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of Ardabil province Arjang Azizi said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Azizi noted that the projects cover tourism, agriculture and industry sectors and cost more than 32.6 trillion rials (about $770 million).

The deputy governor added that 26.9 trillion rials (about $640 million) were spent on 15 projects in the industrial sector and 213 people will be employed.

Azizi said that 4.5 trillion rials (about $107 million) were spent on 27 projects in the agricultural sector and 2,191 people will be employed.

In the tourism sector, 1.2 trillion rials (about $29.5 million) will be spent on eight projects and 191 people will be employed, noted the deputy governor.

“In addition, foundation of 56 projects in agriculture, tourism and industry will be laid,” Azizi said.

Some 219.6 trillion rials (about $5.2 billion) will be invested in these projects, and 29,187 people will be employed, the deputy governor noted.

Hassan Rouhani is expected to visit Ardabil province Jan. 1.
