Some 155,000 tons of kiwi and citrus fruits have been exported from Iran’s northern Mazandaran province this Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019), Azizullah Shahidifar, director of the Agriculture Organization of Iran's Mazandaran province, told reporters.

Shahidifar made the remark following the meeting with farmers in the province, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

“The export of kiwi and citrus fruits will double this Iranian year,” the director said. “So far, 90,000 tons of kiwi and 65,000 tons of citrus fruits have been exported from Mazandaran province to the Caspian countries, the Persian Gulf countries and India.”

“Some 300,000 tons of these products are expected to be exported from the province by the end of this Iranian year (March 21, 2020),” Shahidifar added.

The director noted that 200,000 tons of these products will account for kiwi, and 100,000 tons for citrus fruits.

Shahidifar said that 150,000 tons of kiwi and citrus fruits were exported from Mazandaran province last Iranian year.
