The consumer price index grew by 2.6 percent; prices for food, beverages and tobacco products by 3.8 percent, for non-food items by 1.2 percent, for services - by 2 percent in Azerbaijan in 2019 compared to 2018, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.
The prices increased by 0.5 percent; prices for food, beverages and tobacco products increased by 1.1 percent, for non-food items and services - by 0.1 percent in December 2019, compared to November.
The prices for rice, flour, semolina and buckwheat, pasta, beef, mutton, fresh and frozen fish, sausages, milk, cheese, quark, eggs, margarine, margarine, bananas, apples, pears, grapes, pomegranates, persimmons, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, peppers, eggplants, pumpkin, onions, potatoes and lemonades increased in December 2019 compared to the previous month.
There was a decrease in prices for flour, chicken, condensed milk, yogurt, sour cream, butter, olive and corn oil, citruses, quince, walnuts, chestnut, hazelnuts, beets, carrots, sugar and granulated sugar, tea, coffee, energy drinks. No significant changes were observed in prices for other food products.
Among non-food products, in the reported period, an increase in prices was recorded for fabrics, clothes and shoes, carpets and other floor coverings, furniture and household utensils, wallpapers, bricks, paints, refrigerators, bicycles, vacuum cleaners. At the same time, there was a decrease in prices for air conditioners, mobile phones, TV sets, synthetic laundry detergents. There were no significant changes in prices for other non-food products.
Prices for dry cleaning and rental of clothes, repair of household appliances, medical, cosmetic and hairdressing services, hotel services, international air and rail transportation, as well as housing rental, increased in December 2019, compared to the previous month. There were no other significant changes in the prices of other paid services.
