In 2019, Georgia exported 43,125 tons of wine of fresh grapes to Russia in a total amount of $133.2 million, which is 4,366 tons or $18,7 million more compared to 2018, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
In the reporting period, Georgia exported 107,935 tons of ferroalloy worth $114.5 million to Russia, having increased the export of ferroalloy by 3,284 tons. Throughout 2018, 111,219 tons of ferroalloy totaling $128.4 million were exported from Georgia to Russia.
Meanwhile, 95,605 tons of natural or artificial, mineral and aerated waters not containing added sugar, worth $60.5 million were exported from Georgia to Russia. This is 21,962 tons or $10.5 million more compared to 2018.
During the reporting period, Georgia exported 7,015 tons spirituous beverages in the amount of $34.5 million to Russia. During 2018, export of spirituous beverages from Georgia to Russia amounted to 5,071 tons totaling $21.3 million.
As reported, Georgia exported 73.9 tons of medicaments put up in measured doses worth $19.8 million to Russia. This is 29.5 tons or $9.4 million more compared the 2018.
Russia ranks second in Georgia’s commodity circulation.
In 2019, the trade turnover between Georgia and Russia amounted to more than $1.4 billion, which is 11.5 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.
During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $497.1 million to the Russian market, which is 13.2 percent of total exports.
Meanwhile, Russia imported products worth $975.9 million to the Georgia market, which is 10.8 percent of total exports.
