Uzbekistan records increase in wholesale and retail trade

All regions of Uzbekistan recorded an increase in growth rates of retail trade in 2019, compared to 2018, Trend reports with reference to the data of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Turnover of large enterprises increased by 23.5 percent, compared to 2018, and reached 25.8 billion soums ($2.7 million) , which makes up 15.7 percent of total sales.

According to the statistics, the turnover of retail trade of small business and private entrepreneurship made up 138.3 billion soums ($14.4 billion) which is 5.4 percent more than in the same period in 2018. The share of this sector in the retail trade turnover has reached 84.3 percent. 

From January through December 2019, the turnover of retail trade reached 164.1 billion soums ($17.5 billion) and increased by 7.9 percent compared to the same period of 2018, meanwhile the non-state property made up 163.9 billion soums ($17.2 billion, 99.8 percent) and state property - 283.2 billion soums ($30 million, 0.2 percent).

From January through December 2019, the share of trade turnover of public catering enterprises in the structure of retail trade made up 2.7 percent, reaching 4.4 billion ($471,000) soums and increasing by 6.6 percent compared to the same period of 2018. Small business entities account for 83.5 percent of the trade turnover.

Public catering enterprises turnover from January through December 2019, reached 4.4 billion soums ($471,000) and increased by 6.6 percent compared to the same period of 2018.

According to the statistics, wholesale trade turnover of small businesses reached 53.8 billion soums ($5.6 million) and increased by 5.3 percent compared to 2018.

According to preliminary data, the volume of wholesale trade increased by 5.7 percent compared to 2018, and amounted to 76.7 trillion soums ($7.9 billion)
