The foreign trade turnover between the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan amounted to $5.6 million in 2019, Trend reports referring to the Russian Media.
“Cooperation with Turkmenistan is one of the priority areas of international activity of the Astrakhan Region," said the Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin at a meeting with the Consul of Turkmenistan in Atadurdy Bayramov in Astrakhan.
The Turkmen side expressed its readiness to develop relations in all areas, including in the field of transport and logistics.
Five enterprises with the participation of Turkmen capital are already operating in Astrakhan.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed prospects of opening regular flights between the Astrakhan Region and Turkmenistan.
