Number of projects to be commissioned in Iran's agricultural parks revealed

Twenty-one projects worth 7.7 trillion rials (about $183 million) will be commissioned on the territory of 490 hectares in Iran’s agricultural parks in anticipation of the 41st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution (Feb. 1-11), said Ali Ashraf Mansouri, executive director of the Iranian Agricultural Parks Company, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Agriculture Ministry’s website.

Mansouri noted that foundation of 54 projects will be laid on the territory of 2,900 hectares with investments worth 80 trillion rials (about $1.9 billion).

The executive director added that investigation continues to start shrimp cultivation and fish breeding on more than 30,000 hectares in the shores of Iran’s Golestan, Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, as well as Sistan and Baluchestan provinces.

“About 5,000 hectares of this territory have been handed over to investors and infrastructure facilities are being created with private sector investments,” Mansouri said.

The executive director noted that the number of commissioned parks and those under construction is 87 and their total area is ​​1,520 hectares.

“Production at the commissioned agricultural parks will reach 80,000 tons this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), and if production of the related companies is also considered, total production volume will be 183,000 tons,” Mansouri added.
