Turkmenistan aims to increase its cotton production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8

Turkmenistan has increased its cotton production, Trend reports with reference to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

It Is planned to collect about 25,500 tons of cotton in Turkmenistan’s Oguzhan district.

Turkmenistan has allocated almost 15,000 hectares of land for planting cotton. The planting must be completed before the end of the sowing campaign.

Turkmenistan’s agronomists believe that the main factor in the cultivation of crops is the use of technology, because it accelerates the sowing processes.

Three types of cotton are planned to be planted this year.

In addition to cotton, Turkmenistan’s agronomists are planting corps, mainly wheat and rice. Gardening also plays an important role, in particular with regards to apple trees, apricots, plums, pears, pomegranates and peaches.
