Azerbaijani biggest producer of fruit juices talks production plans for 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 30

By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

The Lankaran cannery, the biggest producer of a wide range of fruit juices and compotes in Azerbaijan, located in Lankaran district, has suspended the production process, a source in the cannery told Trend.

“Such a decision was made by the management because of quarantine amid the threat of an epidemic of coronavirus, and as a result, a decline in sales volumes on the domestic market and outside the country,” the source said.

“Today, the daily production volumes reach 40,000 bottles of compotes,” the source said. “After the quarantine regime is removed, the cannery plans to increase the production volumes of its main products up to 50,000–55,000 bottles of compotes.”

“Today, the total production volumes reach 300,000-400,000 bottles of compotes,” the source said. “Nevertheless, the cannery is capable of producing up to 6-7 million bottles."

Today 65-70 percent of the cannery’s products are sold in the domestic market while 30 percent are exported.

The products manufactured by the Lankaran cannery have a certificate of conformity issued by the Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The Italian equipment has been installed in the cannery.
