Great Britain, Canada purchase cotton yarn from Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has announced a number of transactions made via its State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The total amount of registered transactions for both foreign currency and Turkmen manat was 46.

The sum of transactions for foreign currency exceeded $2.3 million. Entrepreneurs from United Arab Emirates (UAE) purchased urea for foreign currency. Terry cloth and cotton yarn goods were purchased by entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, Russia and Turkey.

For a total amount of 25 million manat ($7.1 million), businessmen from Great Britain, Canada, UAE and Turkey bought cotton yarn.

Turkmen entrepreneurs purchased high-density polyethylene, cotton fiber, and construction materials for the domestic market. The total amount of transactions for Turkmenistan's domestic market exceeded 8.7 million manat ($2.4 million).

The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
