Iran's IMIDRO announces facilities to be commissioned

Facilities worth about $2.2 billion will be commissioned in mining and quarrying industry sector of Iran in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), Chairman of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation (IMIDRO) Khodadad Gharibpour said, Trend reports citing the IMIDRO.

According to Gharibpour, IMIDRO and its subsidiaries plan to commission 31 facilities this year.

Gharibpour added that these facilities will operate in the field of production of steel, copper, gold, antimony, nepheline syenite, phosphate and other sectors.

The official said that more than 27,000 people will be employed at these facilities.

"About $1.09 billion worth of facilities will be commissioned by the private sector this year," he said.

Gharibpour said that one of these facilities is the South Kaveh Steel Company, facilities of which will also produce 55,000 cubic meters of fresh water per day.

The official added that the second phase of the South Kaveh Steel Company's plant will be commissioned and produce 1.2 million tons of steel ingots per year.

"In addition, the Zarand Steel Company will put into operation a phase that will produce 1.7 million tons of ingots a year," he said.

Gharibpour said that with the commissioning of these facilities, more than 4,700 people will be provided with jobs.
