Iran updates on Basht bioethanol plant’s construction

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10

The construction of the Basht bioethanol plant in Basht county of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province (southwestern Iran) is 11 percent complete, said Amir Abbas Koushki, director of Iran’s Basht bioethanol plant, Trend reports citing IRNA.

According to Koushki, construction of the plant began in late September last year in Khan Ahmad Industrial Park.

Koushki added that currently, 40 people are working on the construction of the plant. It was decided to put this plant into operation in March-April 2022.

The official said that with the commissioning of this plant, 300 people will be employed.

Iran's Basht bioethanol plant is being built with an investment of 5.6 trillion rials (about $133 million). If the plant is commissioned, it will produce 200,000 liters of fuel per day. Iran's Basht county has a population of about 22,000 and is located 110 km south of the provincial capital, Yasuj city. There are 2 industrial parks in Basht county. One of them is Basht Industrial Park and the other is Khan Ahmad Industrial Park.
