The Association of Manufacturers of Building Materials of Azerbaijan plans to increase the volume of production of building materials, the association's Chairman Elkhan Bashirov told Trend on May 12.
According to him, the increase depends on the demand growth in the construction market.
“If we look at the current situation, we'll see that the implementation of the plan to increase the production of building materials will take some time. However, this issue has always been a priority for the Association of Manufacturers of Building Materials of Azerbaijan,” he said.
According to Bashirov, in 2020, the association plans to boost the production of building materials by 80 percent.
“Since January through March of this year, we observed drop in the production level of building materials. Cement production declined by 3 percent, prefabricated concrete structures by 5.1 percent, building limestone by 29.1 percent, processed marble, travertine, alabaster and products from them by 36.2 percent, while brick production by 59.8 percent," added Bashirov.
The association was established in 2017 as a part of continuous systematic reforms carried out in order to ensure the development of entrepreneurship in the country.
