Iran increases import of products

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31

Iran's product import increased by 53 percent in terms of weight and by 61 percent in terms of value in the second month of the current Iranian year (April 20-May 20, 2020) compared to the first month (March 20-April 19, 2020), Spokesman for Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

According to Latifi, 3.87 million tons of products worth $3.11 billion were imported in the second month. In total, about 6.5 million tons of products worth $5.04 billion were imported to Iran in two months.

The spokesman said that during two months, Iran imported products worth $1.23 billion from China and products worth $1.07 billion from the United Arab Emirates.

"During this period, Iran imported products worth $535 million from Turkey, $356 million from Russia and $335 million from India," he added.
