Uzbekistan may expand business co-op with Italy

Italian business circles are interested in cooperation with Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the Dunyo News Agency.

Administration of Bukhara region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan held online negotiations with Vice President of Confindustria in Russia (international representation of Confindustria Italy in Russia) Luca Picasso and Redstar Invest representative Antonio Ricci.

Uzbek side demonstrated the possibilities of realization of investment projects in construction, leather and agricultural industries on the territory of Bukhara Agro Free Economic Zone and provided information about the tourist potential of the region.

During the talks, the Italian side voiced its interest in developing cooperation in a number of areas, including energy, construction, agriculture, textile and jewelry industry.

In particular, the representative of Confindustria proposed to hold an Uzbek-Italian business forum in Milan in the fall of 2020, together with Italian Association of Industrialists of Lombardy Region (Assolombarda), with a presentation of economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan.

Confindustria intends to open its representative office in Tashkent (Confindustria - Uzbekistan) in the near future.

The representative of Redstar Invest, in turn, expressed willingness to cooperate in implementing projects in Uzbekistan on the basis of co-investment in agricultural, industrial and tourism sectors.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on further elaboration of issues of joint implementation of projects on production of construction materials, creation of logistics trade and entertainment center, as well as development of animal husbandry, with the involvement of Italian investments and technologies.
