Turkmen, French businesses may lock new deals at online business forum

French companies are interested in expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan, said Géraldine Lemblé, Deputy CEO at French MEDEF International, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan Today State News Agency.

She made the remark during an online meeting with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and industry and the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

The parties considered the possibility of holding a joint Turkmen-French business forum via videoconference with the participation of public and private structures of the two countries and expressed confidence in the successful promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Earlier,Turkmenistan and France discussed trade and economic cooperation, where the parties noted good cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, in particular the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU) and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). France highlighted the importance of regional and international initiatives of Turkmenistan, in particular to maintain peace, security and stability in the region.

During the previous meeting, the participants discussed the development of bilateral relations in cultural and humanitarian sphere, in particular, inter-university cooperation in the field of archaeology.

In addition, prospects for cooperation in space sector and water sphere, in the field of popularization of the French language in Turkmenistan, as well as issues of developing the legal framework were touched upon.
