Agricultural products worth 2.2 billion manat (nearly $1.3 million) were manufactured in Azerbaijan from January through May 2020, Trend reports on June 10 referring to the country’s State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, in the reporting period, the agricultural production grew by 3.6 percent compared to the same period of 2019.
Meanwhile, the cost of fruits and vegetables produced in the country grew by 5.5 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 443.2 million manat ($260.7 million).
The cost of livestock products increased by 3.2 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion).
From January through April this year, the output of agricultural products made up 1.4 billion manat ($820 million), while the cost of fruits and vegetables amounted to, as well as livestock products - 99.4 million manat ($58.4 million) and 1.3 billion manat ($760,000), respectively.
In 2019, the cost of agricultural products manufactured in the country amounted to 7.8 billion manat ($4.6 billion), which is 7.2 percent more compared to 2018.
