The production of household appliances in Iran is expected to increase by 30 percent in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020) compared to last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Mehdi Sadeghi Niaraki said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
According to Sadeghi Niaraki, last year, the production of household appliances increased by 10 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).
Sadeghi Niaraki added that last year, the production of refrigerators increased by 12 percent, washing machines by 33 percent, small appliances by 12 percent and TV by 3 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
The deputy minister said that the production of washing machines increased by 152 percent during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Thus, 121,000 washing machines were produced in two months. However, 48,000 washing machines were produced in the same period last Iranian year.
"TV production has increased by 49 percent in two months. Thus, 110,000 TV sets were produced. However, 73,000 TV sets were produced in the same period last Iranian year," he said.
