Iran's Mobarakeh Steel Company boosts production volume

The volume of slab production of the Iranian Mobarakeh Steel Company increased by 16.2 percent in the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20 - June 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Managing Director of Mobarakeh Steel Company Hamidreza Azimian said , Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to Azimian, 1.89 million tons of slabs were produced in three months.

Azimian stressed that 1.63 million tons of slabs were produced in the same period last Iranian year.

He added that the production of hot coils increased by 9 percent. Thus, 340,000 tons of hot coils were produced in the first three months of last Iranian year, while 370,000 tons of hot coils were produced in the first three months of current Iranian year.

“The company produced 2.44 million tons of sponge iron in three months. This is an increase of 4.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (2.32 million tons)," he said.

Azimian said that the company's product sales increased by 32 percent in three months of current Iranian year compared to the same period last Iranian year. The company's sales exceeded 126 trillion rials (about $3 billion) in three months.

Mobarakeh Steel Company's sales increased by 31 percent in the third month of current Iranian year (May 21-June 20, 2020) compared to the same month last Iranian year. Thus, the products worth 49 trillion rials (about $1.16 billion) were sold in this month,” he said.

The director emphasized that 1.24 million tons of hot steel products, 364,000 tons of cold steel products, 74,000 tons of galvanized products, 236,000 tons of other products, and a total of 2.02 million tons of products were sold during the first three months of current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020).
