Uzbekistan increases polyethylene production

Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex (Uzbekistan) exceeded its polyethylene production plan by 9.2 percent in 1H2020, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz.

In addition, the complex surpassed the plan for production of liquefied hydrocarbon gases by 9.4 percent in 1H2020.

Overall, the complex processed natural gas by 2.1 billion cubic meters (110.2 percent of the plan), production of gas condensate by 52.990 tons (118.5 percent) and production of sulfur by 510 tons (108.5 percent) in 1H2020.

Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex was put into operation in 2001. The complex is capable of processing up to four billion cubic meters of raw gas per year and producing up to 3.5 billion cubic meters of methane, more than 125,000 tons of polyethylene pellets, 100,000 tons of liquefied gas, 100,000 tons of gas condensate, about 1,500 tons of granulated sulfur and over 2,500 tons of finished pipes and connecting parts.

The products of the complex are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Turkey, China, Poland, Italy and several other countries.
