Antimonopoly Committee of Uzbekistan reveals data on approved transactions

The total amount of transactions implemented in Uzbekistan during 2020 amounted to more than one trillion soum (over than $100 million), Trend reports citing the Antimonopoly Committee of Uzbekistan.

By July 1, 2020, the Committee and its territorial offices received 64 applications for preliminary consent to market concentration.

The total amount of transactions made up 1.1 trillion soum ($107.3 million). Foreign investors accounted for 47.3 percent or 479 billion soum ($46.7 million).

It was noted that foreign capital is planned to be used as direct investments or technologies in textile, pharmaceutical, information, electrical, construction and food industries.

Among the largest transactions approved by the antimonopoly authority, made in the first half of 2020, the Committee noted the acquisition of a 70-percent stake in the authorized capital of the JV Hyundai Auto Asia LLC, from the Astana-Motors Company (Kazakhstan); acquisition of a 100-percent stake in the authorized capital of Anglesey Food LLC by Anglesey Investments PTE. LTD. (Singapore); and the accession of JV Agromir Bukhara LLC and JV LLC Agromir Chust LLC to JV AGROMIR LLC.
